Niklas is a director of the Origo and its Investment Consultant, Origo Advisors Ltd. Niklas’ background spans business analysis, financial management, venture capital and private equity investing in China and across developing Asia. Niklas joined Origo from Siemens Venture Capital (SVC), where he was a founding member of Siemens Acceleration Fund. Before his arrays into venture capital investing, Niklas worked with LECG, a San Francisco Bay Area based economic and finance consulting firm. Niklas also spent a few years at a U.C. Berkeley affiliated think-tank, researching technology and business trends in the Asia-Pacific. A Swedish national, Niklas received his BA with highest honors from U.C. Berkeley. He resides in Beijing since 2001 and is a fluent speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
Shonaid is a Chartered Accountant with more than 30 years experience as a senior executive working in private equity, consumer goods and financial services in Asia and the developing world. She also has considerable Board level experience and is currently a non-Executive Director of Amlin plc, GKN plc and APR Energy plc. Previously she was a Non-Executive Director at Havelock Europa Plc and Close Brothers.
Between 2009 and 2012, she was Chief Operating Officer at CDC Group Plc (“CDC”), the UK’s Development Finance Institution, which provides debt and equity capital to businesses in developing countries, and currently manages net assets of £2.8 billion. She was responsible for the company’s systems and procedures relating to risk management, financial control and adherence to environmental, social and governance standards. She also led the relationship with the UK Government, and was a member of the investment committee.
Shonaid was Global Senior Vice President Finance and Information at Unilever Plc (“Unilever”) between 2000 and 2008 where she sat on the Asian Board which oversaw the integration of Unilever’s Asian operations into a unified regional business, whilst ensuring that Asia remained the fastest growing and most profitable region for Unilever.
Prior to joining Unilever, Shonaid was a Partner at KPMG where she established and led KPMG’s Regulatory Advisory Unit advising global financial institutions on all aspects of financial regulation. Shonaid holds an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Lionel de Saint-Exupery is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CDIB Capital International Corporation which he co-founded in 2006. Prior to CDIB Capital, Lionel was as a senior banker in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers based in New York and London. During his investment banking career, Lionel worked on more than US$45 billion of public and private transactions in M&A as well as Equity and Debt Capital Markets. His experience spans across a broad range of industries such as Financial Services, Industrial, Consumer, Media, Technology and Business Services throughout North America, Europe and Asia. During those years, he advised leading private equity firms across a variety of leveraged buyout, trade sale and IPO transactions. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Lionel was a member of the Global M&A practice of Booz-Allen & Hamilton in Europe.
Lionel is a Director of TouchMedia International, Talkin2MeMedia, Inc., Ecofin Fund Management Limited, Cube Capital and SE Properties Limited. He also serves on the advisory boards of a number of funds including the Asian Infrastructure Fund, Carlyle Asia Partners, Tenaya Capital, CX Partners and Riverwood Capital.
Lionel holds an MBA with Distinctions from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a BS in Finance & Entrepreneurship from France’s HEC School of Management.
