Origo Partners, a London Stock Exchange-listed private equity investor and strategic consultancy business, has appointed Shonaid Jemmett-Page as a non-executive director and vice chairman of the Beijing firm. Ms. Jemmett-Page succeeds Christopher Jemmett, who will become senior independent director.
Ms. Jemmett-Page, 52, has more than 30 years experience as a senior executive working in private equity, consumer goods and financial services in Asia and the developing world. She is currently a non-executive director at Amlin PLC, Close Brothers Group PLC, GKN PLC and APR Energy PLC. She previously worked at Havelock Europa PLC, CDC Group, Unilever PLC and KPMG LLP.
Origo, which targets investments in China, invests in natural resources, renewable energy and clean technology businesses. The firm is raising a fund of between $150 million and $200 million targeting clean technology companies across China, and it aims for a first close by the end of the year, Chief Financial Officer Niklas Ponnert told LBO Wire in August.
